I recently was driving down Hamilton St. in Palo Alto when out of the corner of my eye I spotted Zong‘s new office. This was the first time I’d ever seen a storefront office with “Mobile Payments” on it – made me smile!!

Zong is doing interesting things enabling mobile consumers around the world to be able to pay using their wireless carrier’s account relationship. The economics are such that it works for digital goods merchants (who have essentially a zero cost of goods sold) who want the broadest possible payment acceptance option. This whole area of payments is a very busy one right now.

We are happy you like the office front….the percentage of people who opt for using their mobile phones and mobile bills to pay for things is increasing so quickly – it’s easier than a credit card, and often more secure.
I wanted to let you know that some people who are looking for just high conversion, and not a myriad payment options, often just use Zong + credit cards, or Zong + PayPal, too.
