@Dave – re: Mobile, it was only mentioned as an example of an “adjacent payment market” without any further details. PayPal Mobile was not referenced specifically.

Erin, I was struck by the emphasis placed on PayPal’s future revenue growth. It’s a powerful story indeed.

Over on the LinkedIn Merchant Acquirers group, I posed a question last week asking who the members thought the “world’s largest acquirer” was – based on revenue, not payment volume or transactions.

My guess is that PayPal now clearly leads that list – or, if not, certainly will by 2011. If I’m right, isn’t it amazing how PayPal, an ecommerce-only payments provider, can be generating more revenue that any of the other traditional merchant acquirers – including the likes of Chase Paymentech, First Data, BA Merchant Services, RBS Worldpay, etc.? All of them handle billions of dollars more in payment volume than PayPal – but at much lower revenue/transaction.
