Today's New York Times highlights the efforts of smaller merchants to reduce credit card processing fees. With processing fees being often the third- or fourth-largest expense for a small business, merchants are using various tactics: some have introduced split pricing (charging a lower price for cash) and others are encouraging customers to pay with PIN-based debit cards.

I found very valuable information here. i am also a small merchant using the credit cards and always facing problems with credit card fee.
